BEC Day Celebration 2024

Summary of the PPC Meeting on BEC Day Celebration Held on 28.09.2024

A meeting involving the BEC Animators, PPC members, and the Parish Priest was conducted on 28th September 2024 at 4:30 PM with 16 members in attendance. The primary agenda was to discuss the celebration of BEC Day in accordance with the diocesan guidelines for the parish.

Key Decisions and Responsibilities:

• Date of Celebration: The BEC Day celebration is scheduled for 27th October 2024.
• Solemn Bible Procession: The procession will begin at 8:00 AM, and all participants are expected to arrive by 7:45 AM. The Bible Procession Committee will ensure all arrangements are in place.

Procession Order:

1. Cross bearer and candle holder
2. Bengali BEC Units
3. Main Bible with canopy
4. Incense bearers
5. Hindi BEC Units
6. Priests and clergy

• Aarti (3 times):

  • First at the Grotto by Reba Naskar
  • Second at the entrance by Juliet Minz
  • Third inside the Church by the main celebrant

• Entrance Dance (Bengali): Led by Monica Rozario

• Washing of Hands & Tika: Sharmila Minz, Ramola Bara, and Lakhi Asmond

• Holy Mass (Combined):

  • Mass Introduction: J.C. Lakra (Hindi), Anjela Gomes (Bengali)
  • First Reading: Bengali
  • Second Reading: Hindi
  • Prayer of the Faithful: Led by Prokash Mondal and Jyoti Lakra
  • Offertory Dance: Hindi group
  • Offertory: Presented by BEC Units
  • Doxology: Handled by the Bengali group

• Light Breakfast: After Mass, the Bible will be placed in the hall by a procession.

Cultural Program:

• Opening: Lighting of the Lamp
• Zone-wise Performances: Six zones will each present a cultural item such as songs, dances, or skits. The youth will contribute two additional programs.
• PowerPoint Presentation: Created by Jyoti Lakra, featuring testimonies and success stories.

Fellowship Lunch:

• Contribution: Rs. 100 per person. All BEC Units are encouraged to donate.
• Deadline: Names and participant count should be submitted by 20th October. Animators are to collect numbers from their units and update via the WhatsApp group to finalize arrangements for breakfast and lunch.
