Welcome to the Holy Family Church, a Roman Catholic Church under the Diocese of Calcutta, located at Kestopur, Tarulia 1st Lane, Krishnapur, New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, 700102. We are firm believers in God’s unconditional love and grace through Jesus Christ, who is the only key to transforming people’s lives and communities. We are committed to sharing this good news with people around the world and equipping them to find, follow, and fulfill God’s destiny for their lives.

The ministry’s vision is inspired by the Bible, specifically Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples, saying: ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Brief History of Holy Family Church

In March 1892, Father Deprins from Raghapur visited Kestopur at the request of some locals. By August 1892, a small chapel was built. In 1905, this substation was managed by St. Teresa’s, which was attached to Morapai, then Sacred Heart Parish in 1909, followed by visits from Dum Dum in 1912. The substation alternated between Sacred Heart Parish, St. Teresa’s, Dum Dum, and St. Xavier’s College, while remaining part of Dum Dum parish. In 1998, a new church was built, followed by the construction of a priest’s residence and a school in 2000. That same year, the parish was officially established and entrusted to the OFM (Capuchins).
